Me: Hello, Well.ca — this is Ali. How can I help you?
Customer: Uh… umm… hi… is this L’Oreal [or Almay, or Maybelline, or Neutragena..] ? I wanted to …
Me: Umm… We sell L’Oreal products, but we are not the manufacturer …
See, people (a frightening number of people!) just assume that the first link that comes up when you do a search like below is the manufacturer of the product.
It is funny to get these calls all the time (we’ve made a list of all the manufacturer’s contact numbers to give to people like this) but it’s a sign that we’re doing better than the manufacturers themselves at making our products findable on search engines.
